Recognized by Oprah and ESSENCE Magazine as an effective girls’ empowerment expert, Janice Ferebee, MSW, is one of seven (7) outstanding recipients of the 2014 TOYOTA TRIBUTE TO WORKING WOMEN AWARD – sponsored by WJLA/News Channel 8 and Washington Area Toyota Dealers.  She will be recognized at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on Friday, Oct. 17, from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm, at an awards luncheon.  Janice was nominated by Elethia Singletary, one of the first participants in her award-winning GOT IT GOIN’ ON® (GIGO) Empowerment Program for Girls in 1998 at Metropolitan Baptist Church.  Ms. Singletary is the current GIGO Director of Communications & Program Development, and is being groomed to take over the GIGO brand.  Ms. Ferebee’s guests at the awards luncheon will include Ms. Singletary, as well as her childhood girlfriend, Jacquie Gales Webb, WHUR Sunday Morning Gospel Show Personality.
